Swapp your notebook ODD with an HDD/SDD thanks to Donya's new universal adapter

Shanghai Donya launched this morning in Japan the DN-69810, a new universal HDD and SSD adaptor for notebooks. If you own a notebook that comes with a DVD or Blu-Ray drive chance that you may have the possibility to remove it and swap it with another one, at least most of the notebook I own in the past at this possibility, and having the possibility to easily upgrade your computer by offering it a new HDD or even an SSD could be a perfect for those of you who are in needs for more storage space!

Thanks to Donya’s new DN-69810, installing a second HDD on your notebook is now made possible and as easy as swapping your ODD. Supporting both SATA and IDE interface for older notebooks, this DN-69810 will fit in laptop supporting either 9.5 or 12.7mm (Thick) ODDs and is sold online at around 1,999 Yen in Japan

I’ve seen some like this which are specially made to fit specific laptops so that the contours of the case match the drive.
It’s a great idea, no need for a single expensive high capacity SSD, have two drives instead.

  I also really love this idea, I had such solution on an ASUS Convertible in the past and it was really nice in RAID 0!
