Sharp launches its own and more restrictive iVDR ready AQUOS BD Recorder with SHDD

Sharp announced today in Japan a trio of AQUOS Blu-Ray recorder with the BD-T2100 (2TB), BD-T1100 (1TB) and BD-T510 (500GB) which all comes with a new spinoff of the iVDR-S, the SHDD. So what is all about SHDD and why not stiking with iVDR and just call a cat a cat? Well it seems that the world needed another ultra restrictive media in dedicated to piss-off the most customer possible at once! Indeed while technically SHDD and iVDR-S are identical, Sharp decided to lock-up SHDD drives one and one player only! Yep unlike iVDR-S once you recorder something on it you will only be capable to watch your show on the BD Player you first recorded the show with! Don’t worry, it’s even getting worse! One BD Recorder/Player CANNOT have more than 16 SHDD registered at once on the same BD Recorder…
Anyway we won’t go further on what these products are capable off since they are DOA (Dead On Arrival), after all it is not like if Sharp are the winning company of the year in Japan right?
“Sharp also declined after posting a record loss of 380 billion yen, 31 percent more than its earlier forecast.” Bloomberg
