Panasonic finally reveals the truth behind P2 Cards by announcing P2 SD Cards or MicroP2 Cards

P2 Cards has been one of the best experiences I had in my, short, life of pseudo video cameraman/maker. And despite its “PCMCIA” like shape, Panasonic engineers told me a long time ago that this P2 Cards where in fact nothing but four SD cards mounted in RAID capable to provide up to 100Mbps.
And today, out of the blue, Panasonic announced its first MicroP2 Cards capable to handle up to 50mbps of speed. Well, I am sure that you figured it out, but yep these MicroP2 cards are pretty much “updated” version of the SD cards found in P2 cards… So while I am glad that Panasonic finally took the time to release these cards, still, I’m disappointed that it took them that long!
