Pioneer announced today 4 new audio PLC products for our greatest pleasure. I can sense you’re about to ask “oh but what is PLC?” Well, you can just use the Search feature on Akiba and you will know..! But I’m in a good mood today and will tell you instead! PLC stands for Power-Line Carrier Communication, which is some kind of Ethernet on power lines.

So we have 4 new products, including the XW-PSS01 which has a station (supporting WMA, MP3, MPEG-4 AAC, and equipped with a USB port) and L and S network speakers (= €440). If you need more speakers, L speakers cost €170 and S speakers cost €120. For Apple fans, Pioneer also offers an iPod dock station.

I have to congratulate Pioneer for this type of product that will allow you to stream music just about anywhere in your house without any efforts, as long as you have power plugs!
