Pioneer introduces a new 6X BDXL burner in Japan

Behold the BDR-207JBK, the latest BDXL Burner from Pioneer. Announced for early January in Japan at around 18,000 Yen, the BDR-207JBK is not only capable to burn your good old BD Dual layer at 12x but also BD-R XL QL (Quad Layer) at 6x ! The BDR—207JBK comes with Pioneer’s PureRead2 and Peak Power Reducer technology.

Love to get one, but with the BD-XL media prices still quite high and lack of support from Mac OS and Roxio Toast, we are not really getting the benefit from these optical drives at this stage. Perhaps Pioneer could bundle some Mac software with its as well.
