Pantech announced the P9060, its new 4:3 Smartphone for AT&T

Pantech announced this morning in Korea its latest Smartphone, the P9060 via AT&T in North America. This new Android 2.3.3 phones comes with a rather unusual 4” 4:3 screen with an 800×600 resolution making it the ideal companion for people looking for a nice pocket hybrid between a smartphone and an E-Book Reader (according to Pantech). While there is not a lot of information on this new smartphone available right now, Pantech announced however in Korea that its P9060 will come with a 5Mpix Camera and a rubber coating back offering the best grip possible.

And the fragmentation of the Android platform marches on. Now apps for this device will have to be re-written for this odd screen size and aspect ratio.
