Nissan 2-seat EV gets a test field

Nissan has just obtained green light from the minister’s cabinet to proceed with the open road testing.

This testing will be done in Yokohama, where Nissan will try to evaluate the impact of a small 2-seat EV car. Nissan is also going to study the traffic, so that it can better adjust the mixed traffic of a EV and regular cars.

This new EV from Nissan weights only 470Kg, and it is able to reach a top speed of 80Km/h.

I like how EV manufacturers are starting to really concentrate on making their vehicles lighter. That, in combination of reducing the drag coefficient of the cars, will really help increase the range the cars can go between charges. It will also allow for smaller batteries, which brings even lighter weight, less cost, and faster charging.
