Slim Electric Double Layer Energy

The name seems boastful, but this new technology developed by Murata Manufacturing Co Ltd and employing technology developed by CAP-XX Ltd. lives up to the name.
In “normal” non-science terms, these new devices are able to catch the electric ions due to physical absorption instead of chemical reactions like those used on regular batteries.
Furthermore, this new device is able to be charged much quicker, and has a wider range of output power, enabling it to be used on short-time peak capacity.
Murata current production capacity is at several hundred of thousand units per month, but it will be increased to a one million a month in 2012.
Are we at the brink of dawn for a new generation of batteries ?
