The rumor mill has been working at full speed when the first K-on movie was announced at the beginning of this year. A week ago the official trailer was released in Japan, a couple of hours later this was posted on youtube (see below).

The second season of the smash hit series K-on!! turned Japan’s anime scene upside down, so no surprise that after the 2nd season ended in September last year there would be a follow-up. At first most fans anticipated a 3rd season, but the Kyoto Animation production house decided to go for a movie.

Plot:
The movie follows the girls as they travel to England to celebrate their graduation. It was announced during the K-On!! Come With Me!! live concert and on the official anime website on February 20, 2011 that the film will be released in Japan on December 3, 2011.

Except for the recent release of the trailer, most of the storyline and exact release date remains well hidden under the sheets. Making this year-end’s release even more exciting for both studio and fanbase.
