Sanyo is back with the DMX-HD2

Sanyo was the first company to hit the market with an HD video camera, the Xacti, a compact video camera able to record in 720p. If the idea was excellent, reality proved entirely different, as the HD1 was far from providing videos of good quality. But Sanyo is persevering and is now offering a new Xacti HD, the DMX-HD2. So what’s new? First, it goes from 7.1 to 7.38Mpix, it has a new sensor, support for SDHC (up to 8GB), ISO400 to ISO1600, HDMI on the base, and a 9Mbps BR in 720p. Recording takes 58mn on a 4GB SD card. But the real question is: does Sanyo finally provide us with a product capable of recording real HD videos, or just a pixel based video camera? We’ll see!
