Panasonic announces two new PDP 3D Viera TVs in Japan

PDPs, also known as Plasma TVs, are not as popular as they once were. Despite offering what many argue is the best image quality, the rather “excessive” price seems to have put them aside and far behind LED Backlit TVs. Still, Panasonic is a strong believer in PDP technology and today announced two new models, the 65-inch TH-P65VT3 and the 55-inch TH-P55GT3.
The first model, the TH-P65VT3, announced in Japan at around 630,000 Yen, will be sold without 3D glasses. This Full-HD Plasma TV features Panasonic’s new Full Black Panel II Technology, offering a 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio. It also comes with automatic 2D-to-3D video conversion and USB HDD/SDXC recording.
The TH-P55GT3, announced at 350,000 Yen, is also sold without 3D Glasses and Panasonic Black Panel II Technology, offering the TH-P65VT3-like contrast ratio of 5,000,000:1 as well as USB HDD/SDXC recording.
