The new VAIO Type T

The new Sony VAIO Type T are still very slim (only 9mm thick) and light (less than 1.2kg), and will be available end of January. They have a Core Solo U1500 CPU, a maximum of 2GB of RAM, a 100GB hard disk, Vista, and are available in six different colors.

I love my TX2, I took it on a trip to the USA recently when in the past I almost never take laptops with me due to bulk. At security, with laptop closed in the tray to pass through x-ray, one guard asked me “is this a laptop?”, I replied yes, and they said “really?” with eyes popping. Battery life was good, I made DVDs from camcorder footage, used it as a VOIP phone (note there’s no built-in microphone!), and played music and movies. This new dual-core one will be very impressive, no doubt.
