The JVC Everio HD and HDD friendly finally arrives in Japan
JVC presented the Everio HD with a 60 GB hard disk during the CES. We already had the chance to see it at the CEATEC. We don’t have much more information about it, but we know it will be available in April 2007 at a price of $1,800. It supports Full HD at 1920×1080i with a 30Mbps VBR (unlike Sony with their HDV at 1440×1080), the codec will be the AVCHD (the same that comes with the SD1 Panasonic video camera: Panasonic HDC-SD1, the first AVCHD camcorder with an SD card). It certainly is a nice product and the 60GB hard disk makes it very attractive. However, I’d be inclined to choose the Panasonic, which sports a better resistance to shocks with its SD card…

I´ve written, that this cam, would support AVCHD, but I´ve heard on a german website of an important magazine, that this cam support a new kind of HDV with a mpeg2-TS stream
JVC was close until today, we will call them to find out what kind of Codec it is, but we heard from our spies at the CES that AVCHD would be the codec of this device…
The codec can’t be AVCHD since AVCHD only allow 24mbps at max.
But it isn´t possible, becaus AVCHD only supports until 24Mbit/s and not 30
Look at this, it´s mpeg2-TS:
