Clearly a reaction to poor sales. But does this also show that iOS and Android based phones and the available app-games are taking market away from this type of hand-held gaming device?

Yay! That means I can replace my stolen DS Lite for less. Once the 3DS drops in price, I’m sure the old DS Lite will too.

With the addition of Netflix and the promise of 3D shows through the 3DS Netflix client, it makes it even more appealing. I’m not too happy that they are cutting the price so soon and the “reward” to early buyers isn’t really that great. If I wanted to play NES and gameboy games I just use an emulator. I’d rather have some credits to buy some of the other downloadable 3d games instead.

i wish they slashed the price for the XL, i dislike the tiny screensize of the regular dsi and 3ds

Hrm…Having a DS and hearing not entirely positive reviews of the 3D effect (works, but very limited angle of vewing, eyestrain/headaches among some), I haven’t exactly rushed out to get one. While still not a “must have,” it’s a little more tempting now.
