KDDI introduces an upgrade version of its REZGA Phone IS11T

KDDI has shown for the first time a working prototype of the Regza Phone IS11T Android smartphone.
Based on the previous model released earlier this year, this phone, running Android 2.3.4, features an upgraded 1.4Ghz Snapdragon processor, 4-inch Full Wide VGA display and a slide-out, full qwerty keyboard.
Q “We’d like to promote this smartphone to heavy users of social networking services and email, especially those who frequently text with Twitter and Facebook.”
With this target audience in mind, the phone can be set so that an application, such as Facebook, Twitter or email, starts loading automatically as soon as the keyboard is slid out.
Q “When you slide it open in this mode, the email is booted up. When you press “New Message,” you can start texting right away.”
Toshiba have also made it so that some independent applications can be displayed at the same time, such as twitter and 1Seg TV.
Q: “You can tweet while watching a one-seg TV program. The left screen shows one-seg, and the right screen is for tweets. If you want to tweet while watching TV, you can tweet in this mode.”
Other features include an 8MP camera, support for IR data transmission, Wifi and bluetooth, and the phone has a stated 300 minutes of talk time and 260 hours standby.
The phone is currently still in the late production stages, with final tweaks to the software yet to be made before it’s September release date.
