We haven’t entered the Pig/Boar year yet.

Not until another month and a half: February 18. The Chinese Years NEVER start on January 1st, and are NOT 365 days long.

However, as an AVERAGE the Chinese year IS 365 days long.

The Chinese New Year starts with the New Moon (black moon) and varies between January 20 and February 21.
