T-Mobile MyTouch 4G getting a late Christmas treat starting tomorrow

Hey, MyTouch 4G users, here’s some news letting you know that you haven’t been forgotten. If you’re still running a non-rooted phone with the stock firmware, you’ll be happy to note that today T-Mobile and HTC announced the Gingerbread upgrade for your phone.
Starting tomorrow, July 20, there will be a limited pilot for the update, which is to Android 2.3.3. Some of the features include 2010 Exchange compatibility, a new version of Swype, improved Bluetooth audio, to work better when answering a call with a headset paired, a more stable and responsive display, plus various other software and stability improvements. This may not be the latest Gingerbread update (2.3.4) that brings Google Talk with video calling, but it’s a start and probably as good as it will get.
A broader rollout to customers will begin in the coming weeks, continuing through the end of the year. So, don’t panic if you don’t get it right away, hopefully you’ll get the update before Ice Cream Sandwich hits in December.
Be on the look for this tomorrow and if you’re impatient, I’m sure you will be able to manually update soon enough, once someone gets their hands on it and uploads it.
