Samsung reinvent the FullHD with their 22” LCD TV
Samsung proudly offers the CX225MD, a 22” LCD TV supporting 1080p and sporting a FullHD logo… with a 1680×1050 resolution!! Where’s the error?! FullHD is supposed to have a minimum resolution of 1920×1080, not 1680×1050 which is the WSXGA+ resolution found on many PC screens. Of course!! That’s how Samsung refurbishes their LCDs for PC, by slapping together a TV tuner and an HDMI port, and you’ve got a TV! Samsung has quite a sense of humor when they indicate these TVs are 100% PC compatible. That’s right, these are NOTHING else than screens for PCs.

This is not new. My 20″ Acer AL2032WA can present 1080p with 1680×1050 pixels.
Ummmm… wow, so then Samsung didn’t invent the idea!! but it’s still kinda stupid as being as 1080p is a screen of 1920×1080. Are you not angry that they sold you a screen that doesn’t have enough pixels to display a full image. of course the fullHD image can be shrunk into the screen so you can see it all… but at the end of the day, this is lying to the consumer in a market where it’s over loaded with too many HD standards to further confuse people into buying what is not what they might think it is.
BTW, I love the last photo, can she even see the screen!?!?!
