The Vista thing is is because of the DHCP ability of the monitor. Vista utilizes DRM which will prevent the output of high-definition content protected (HD-DVD/Blu-Ray) over a non-secure digital connection. Vista will actually scale the image quality down if you were to play this HD content over a normal (non DHCP) DVI link. Although it is marketing related, it does directly reflect on the functionality of the monitor.

FANTASTIC, this thing is huge and sooooo cheap. picture is really crisp, colour needs turned down from factory setting but after 5 imins fiddling its better than my samsung by quite a way, only gripe is some white light bleed top and bottom edge on black screen but dropping brightness helps a lot. much better than i expected for the dosh. recommended

i assume the 3000:1 contrast is a dynamic contrast ratio and not the actual contrast ratio?
but indeed, the vista ready and made for vista logo's are quite useless, to bad even most retailers don't know what it means (i'm working in a shop aswell and i recently have been reading about the vista capable, vista ready and made for vista stuff, and its all marketing, good marketing tho, but read further than the brochures and you'l see that most hardware is capable of opperating under windows vista.
