Olympus announced the PEN Lite E-PL3, a new Generation of compact Micro Four Thirds System
This, my friends, is what I was looking for a very long time! A Sony NEX-5 Micro Four Thirds like! Well-done Olympus! I have nothing against Sony’s NEC-5 but owing a GH1 and Micro Four Thirds Lens I was not ready to jump into Sony’s very tempting NEX-5. Anyway Think of the E-PL3 as a light version of the E-P3, which comes here with a 12.3Mpix High Speed Live MOS sensor with 1080i H Movie capabilities, a nice 3” swivel type HyperCrystal LCD monitor, a first on an Olympus Pen, ISO 12800, and 25% more compact than the previous E-PL2!
Here as well the E-PL3 comes with the E-P3 Ultrafast AF using new AF system, a 35 area AF mode, a 5.5fps sequential shooting mode and 3D Photo Shooting mode.
The PEN Lite E-PL3 will be available in Japan around Autumn 2011 and like the EP3 will be available three different flavors including the Camera Body only, a Single Kit Lens with a M.ZUIKO DIGITAL 14-42mm f3.5-5.6 II R and a Dual Lens Kit with a M.ZUIKO DIGITAL 14-42mm f3.5-5.6 II R and M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 40-150mmf4.0-5.6R
