This summer will be hot in Japan and pretty much everywhere but rest assure some companies like Sanyo will keep us cool with minus 86 capable freezers!
-86c… Freaking cold isn’t it? Well rest assure these are not your average freezers but models made for Biomedical research and for cell therapy for example.

Anyway today Sanyo introduced three new ULT Freezers or Ultra-Low Temperature Freezer with the model MDF-U700VX and its dual cooling system capable to freeze your Ice Cream and other Cell research as low as -85c and with fail safe redundancy system that can keep temperature as low as -70c if the first one fail as well offering both a filterless structure and eco mode (17% in Power Reduction) with a total capacity of 728l.
While the two other models, made in Japan but for the US market research, the MDF-U56VC (526l) and the MDF-U76VC (728l) does not comes with redundancy cooling system but with a more energy efficiency system reducing power consumption up to 32% and 29% respectively. Finally both model are capable to reach -86c for ultimate freezing.

This said, did any researcher using such tech ever tried the effect of such ULT freezer on a Ben & Jerry Ice Cream? Seriously?

Note : The MDF-U700VX that has been officially introduced today by Sanyo is in fact available in Japan since Q4 2010.
